It’s that time again, the time to start thinking about your winter wardrobe. I’m looking forward to the new styles and designs, but I can’t say the same for the weather. Luckily we still have a few months of summer left, and that also means we have a few months to prepare for what winter will bring. So I decided to start looking at the new collections on the highstreet, and found these items which are great wearable catwalk interpretations…

The first of the Autumn/Winter 2013 trends I wanted to share with you is ‘Romantic Pinks‘, I love this look because it doesn’t have to be overly girly but is undoubtedly feminine. Pastel pinks or even lilacs are lovely colours to add to an outfit, to give it a warm, cute & sophisticated vibe. I really like this structured jacket from River Island, it will give strong & clean lines to an outfit. And I think it is the perfect shade of pale pink to incorporate into your wardrobe.

Topshop - Moto Blossom Print Midi Skirt

Topshop – Moto Blossom Print Midi Skirt

Long Length Skirts – this upcoming season it is all about clean, longer lined skirts. While I’m sure the mini skirt will still be making appearances, it’s time to make way for an ultra sophisticated skirt..which leaves room for the imagination but shows just enough leg to leave you feeling feminine. The skirt I have chosen to post is from Topshop, it has a beautifully subtle pattern to it which can be paired with flats for a casual day look, or you can add some skyscraper heels to create a beautiful & womanly outfit; accentuating your legs.

Warehouse Feather Earrings

Trend number three on my list to share with you is Feathers. Feathers are not only feminine and floaty, but they can add a lot of glamour to an evening outfit. Now you could go all out with this one, and go for a daring but beautiful feathered skirt. Or if you like to keep your style more tamed, you can easily add some feather accessories like these Warehouse earrings to your outfit.

Zara Snakeskin Minaudiere

With this item I have combined two trends in one, Snakeskin and the Minaudiere. The minaudiere is a great little addition to any outift, it has so much style & class for such a dainty yet bold accessory. You can find so many great designs but I particularly liked this snakeskin one (snakeskin also being a trend to look out for this coming season). I had to post two photo’s of this bag, as I think the inside is just as good as the outside with its rich royal blue interior.

ASOS Long Fur Gilet

ASOS Long Faux Fur Gilet

Fur, this trend looks like it is sticking around for a while (which I LOVE). With so many ways to wear faux fur and different varieties, whether it be long or short, it really is a must have item to have somewhere in your wardrobe. I really like this long ASOS gilet as it also consists of the statement style of sleeveless coats, which is making an appearance this autumn. So whether it be a casual and comfy fur hat you are looking for when the weather turns cold, or a more eye catching jacket, you are bound to find your perfect piece.

The last key trend to share with you is Classic Bags, and with the fur & feathers being big contenders, it is good to have some simplicity thrown in the mix too. And what better way than to have a classically clean bag? I love these two Zara bags, the black one is perfect for the daytime whether you are going shopping or just at work, and the white one for sheer elegance in the evening.

If I had to choose my favourite out of these trends, it would have to be Romantic Pinks, the Miniaudiere and Classic Bags. Okay, so maybe that wasn’t ONE favourite but how could I single it down to just one of them?! Romantic Pinks add femininity to any look, a Minaudiere can be your statement accessory and a Classic Bag can bring a lot of versatility whilst being incredibly classy.

Now, a random fact about me – It has come to my attention that velvet shoes are a key trend to look out for this coming season, personally this one will not be on my list, due to having a genuine phobia of velvet. I like to think it isn’t weird as there is an actual name for a phobia of touching certain materials, but most people disagree with me 😛 There was once even a time that I had to cover my friend in a jacket before I hugged her, just because she had a velvet top on! If anybody knows of a cure for this, please do tell 😉

Do you have any weird fashion phobias?
